The Tapper last night was Keeper Of The Sacred Bundle Prairie Camp but better known around Camp as Kyle Yardley. Last night Kyle had the honor of Tapping twenty-six youths into the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Currently, he is the Area Director of the Handicraft area this year but he has spent his other four years on staff serving in various other positions. Prior to joining the Camp Geiger staff Kyle was a part of Troop 87 in Cameron, Missouri where he was active in the Crossed Arrows dance district. Also while he was able to be active in the dance team her earned green dance coup which is a total of one hundred public dances, additionally he earned Lone Bear coup while a part of the dance district. While I was talking to him today he happened to have mentioned his favorite quote, "Character isn't what you do when people are watching but what you do when nobody is around." I find this to be interesting because it does a great job of describing the way Kyle is on staff, he may spend a lot of his time in the background but he can always be counted on when he is needed. With the honor of being the Tapper last night he finally received the recognition for all of the extra time and effort he put in that he had never drawn any attention to from the beginning.

This may be the last blog of the week, but far from the last of the year. There are still two more exciting weeks left of the 2011 camping season. Be sure to continue to check back frequently to the blog here at Camp Geiger Blogspot. In particular next week will be of interest when the largest number of campers this year will be at Camp Geiger.
