The Greatest Fourth Session Of 2011
Although today had a poor beginning because of the torrential downpours that hit Camp, the weather was completely clear in time for the troops to begin arriving this afternoon. After near record numbers of campers the past three weeks, fourth session has begun with a total of thirteen troops. Just because there are less Scouts here this week doesn't mean that the program will be effected, there will be just as much fun and energy this week as there has been the rest of the summer.
Once the troops started arriving today there was no time wasted in unloading and getting everyone to where they needed to be because of the threat of more rain. Luckily the skies stayed clear and everyone was able to take their swim tests and keep their gear dry as campsites where being set up. Following swim tests and check-in at headquarters everyone sat down in the now spacious Dining Hall and enjoyed supper. Then shortly after supper all Scouts and leaders were asked to assemble in the Handi Craft corral in Class A uniforms so that they could be taken orderly to the council ring for Sunday night opening campfire. At the campfire will everyone's first opportunity to meet this year's Camp Staff and be able to find out who will be instructing what Merit Badges. Once the campfire is over all of the campers will be given an opportunity to finish setting up campsites and get some much needed rest to prepare for what will be an exciting and busy week.
