Today was another great day to be here at Camp Geiger, the sun was out for the entire day for the first time this week and the heat hasn't set in yet like it is forecasted to later this week. I spent my morning in the Shooting Sports area because it is very easy to lose track of time over there since there is so much going on. To start off the morning on the archery side there was an open leader shoot for any leader at Camp to come down and shoot the bows, it also turned into a little friendly competition between the adults in which the best shooter won bragging rights. In the other archery activity the instructors were busily leading groups through the trails to shoot at the different 3D targets. As for the firearms side down at the shotgun range class was held in the pavilion so that they could cover shooting technique and how the shooting portion of the class would be conducted. On up at the rifle range after the campers had finished shooting at their qualification targets they had some fun by shooting the circles on the backs on playing cards.

A favorite addition to nearly every meal here is the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It is well loved by virtually all members of staff but one staff man took it to the next level at supper tonight by creating a six layer pb&j. After constructing this monster out of six layers of bread, six peanut butter packets, and twelve jelly packets he demolished the sandwich in little over a minute. Also tonight during supper the Camp favorite Sitting Bull was played for the second time after making its come back during breakfast. The card that was drawn tonight was for the person with Sitting Bull to pick any staff member to chug a pitcher of water. The lucky person to be picked was Casey Dupree, the acting program director for tonight, he made a valiant attempt at finishing the water but burrito night did him in and he was unable finish.
As always I encourage you to continue to check back here at Camp Geiger Blogspot to keep up with all of the fun going on here.
